To make a rather long story short, last Thursday night I spent the night in the ER getting poked and prodded. It turned out, I had an inflamed gallbladder full of gallstones, which had to go! So now, I am one organ down, and recovering pretty well.
Unfortunately, they didn't let me save the gallstones, although I asked. And they wouldn't take out my appendix while they were in there, either, although I asked.
You're still relatively lucky. I had mine out back in '86 -- before they did such procedures laparoscopically. Which meant a giant, permanent scar and a long hospitalization.

ReplyDeleteApparently after a little bit of boot up time, the liver can usually pick up the functionality of the gallbladder.

ReplyDeleteYep, the liver would pick up what the function of the gallbladder. It means the liver works double time. And speaking of gallstones, when you opened them, they are full of oil inside. I tried it.
