Do You Like My Hat?

Last night me and Yoni where chating in a Google hangout.  Google hangout has a number of apps that allow you to add silly things to the video, such as hats and beards and similar.  I had been messing around with these when my internet went down and it froze.  When I had re-obtained internet access, I found a picture in my inbox.
That is where the video had froze.  As a side note, I love Google hangout.  When I had gotten my internet back I simply restarted the hangout window, reentered the hangout and continued where I had left off with Yoni.

For bank use only

I recently filled out an online application for a credit card. At the bottom of it, they had this section:
The section at the bottom wasn't made of input boxes, since it was "For Bank Use Only." No clue why they felt the need to include the empty fields in an online form.

Small market

I saw this Mrs. Schlorer's Ham Glaze in the grocery store a few weeks ago. Check out the label: It's good to know you can use kosher ham glaze during your next Christmas dinner.

Happy and Healthy New Year

We are fast approaching the Jewish holiday season (5 holidays in a month).  Which means its time to bake a ton of challah, and by ton I mean 15 pounds of whole wheat challah doughs worth.

For scale, my chefs knife has an eight inch blade.

Trip to Seattle

Here is a photo from partway up Mt. St. Helens. More to come later.

Yet more mixed messages

Check out the name of this bar next to a parking garage in Washington Heights:
Not sure which institution preceded which, but I think that Washington Heights' Premier Gay Bar needs to be renamed (or perhaps that garage should be renamed "MPG No Park").

And I am Back

Well it's been a long summer (although when you think about it, it's been about as long as it usually is), and here we are in September the official end of summer for students.  Go for it, you can say it, "but you have graduated, you are no longer a student" to which I reply "yep."  Well then, you may want to know why I haven't posted all summer, yet somehow as soon as school doesn't start for me again I post.  I could tell you not much happened to me over the summer that was blog worthy, but we all know that is simply not the case.  But in my own defense this summer was pretty boring by a Lansey brother's standard.

I did some interesting things this summer, which I may tell you about at some point.  I also decided to learn the names and connections of all the bones in the body (as a fun side note if you want a tired person to fall asleep just start reciting all the names, if you start at the top with the frontal and temporal bones by the time you get up to the ossa innominata your target will be out cold).

It seems that you at least are still awake.  So as a reward.

How is that for a non sequitur.

Bartering with Vikings in the Boston Harbor

While kayaking last Sunday, came upon a Icelandic ship.
Notice the orange lifeboat on the top left, pretty solid looking.

After a short discussion they lowered us some Icelandic Beer.

Here I am collecting the beer and attaching a clif-bar to send back up to them.

Then they lowered some yogurt

Why didn't they go and see Boston? Because their Icelandic passports were too weak to allow them onto land, they were stuck on the ship. I would feel sorry for them but they are headed to the Caribbean next.

Thanks Suzanne for taking the pictures.
