Marketing 101

Last week's Teaneck Suburbanite had an "Adopt a pet" ad, starring this friendly, entirely sane, well tempered,  and photogenic kitty:
Believe it or not, she's still up for adoption.

Granted, our kitties have mastered deranged psycho kitty looks, too,
but it seems to me that a picture of a sleeping cat is always a better bet than one displaying a demonic fuzzbutt.

Why it's difficult to get anything done

Stacy bought a SKY Chair when she was 16 and has been waiting to have a house to hang it in since then. We have a house, so we figured we'd hang the chair. Seems simple enough, and yet, I leave the room for a second and...In the end, I did manage to hang it:

I love it when a plan comes together

I recently designed a cat tree for our cats in Google SketchUp.
You can download the whole model at the SketchUp 3D Warehouse [link].
With the help of Aryeh, last Saturday night we cut up various pieces of lumber for the project.
Then I borrowed our building's superintendent's power screwdriver and put the thing together:

Although I haven't carpeted it, completed the little house on bottom, or wrapped the posts in sisal rope, the kittens still like it:

The shirts draped on it are to make it slightly more comfy for the cats before I get a chance to carpet it.

A blast from the past, part II

Some of you may recall City College's diskette vending machine. Here is another blast from the past, courtesy of the fairly dilapidated Marshak Science Building.

And, although there's no shortage of cat-related stuff on the internet, people have been asking about our kittens. So here's two pictures of kittens sleeping, or being rudely awakened by a camera flash.
Sorry, I couldn't help LOLcatting (thanks, roflbot). This is the last time I'll subject you to this, I hope.

Two kittens

Almost two weeks ago, while leaving shul on Saturday night, I noticed two kittens in an alley huddled together and shivering. We couldn't leave them out there to freeze, so Stacy and I brought them home.
They were scared, cold and hungry little kittens. You'd put out food and they'd scarf it down as fast as possible, then try to hide. Fortunately, by now they've been de-flea'd, de-wormed, (more or less) litterbox-trained, and most certainly fed. So now they're friendlier and much more active.
Now the trouble is keeping them off our furniture, etc. And, after seeing some of their antics, I'm convinced that whoever coined the phrase "curiosity killed the cat" probably had a cat.
Oh, and it seems like we're keeping the little critters. The one with black in its fur is called Gravity and the other is Widget.

Finals and Two Kittens

I have finals, and as of last Saturday night we have two kittens, so this short post will have to tide you over for now.
