Stupid Spammers

I received this email today:
If your salary is lower, than you deserve due to a lack of a degree, we can help you to change this situation. To receive your customized diploma you should leave your NAME & TEL. PHONE # (with country-code) on the voicemail and we will get in touch with you ASAP. Stay competitive in a tough job market. Call us!

I find this hilarious, not because I already have a degree and am working toward a higher level one, but because I have an academic email address.  The spammers are spamming .edu email addresses about getting fake custom diplomas.

Stupid spammer.

  1. i'm pretty sure they are marketing towards people who think they want a degree - but realize that it can be difficult so they might accept a spammy way out.

  2. Though maybe this would be the right place to ask. Does ejecting a disk from my car CD player help propel the car (using Newton's third law), and thus save gas ? The reason I ask, is because I just bought a new car with a multiple CD change, and can eject multiple disks without reloading and am curious if I should now reduce my gas budget. I should mention, that I have vary fickle taste in music and a large collection of CDs, and I only load CDs when not moving. Thank you !

  3. It definitely would help propel your car - as long as you have a convertible and the cds were flying straight out the back of the car (not landing in the seat) and launched at supersonic speeds. Be sure to load up a whole stack of them because you probably will still need a lot to improve your gas mileage. Thanks for your interesting comment.
